The Body Workshop

The Philosophy

Our bodies carry us through every moment of our lives. But between busy schedules, stress, physical work, and constant demands, it’s easy for the body to become a place where tension accumulates.

My role as a massage and bodywork practitioner is to help people reconnect with their bodies and restore a sense of ease. I’m honored every time someone trusts me to care for their body and help them feel better in it.

The Vision: Meet Anne Slettom

I'm Anne Slettom, founder of The Body Workshop. My path into massage therapy began decades ago when I heard Sister Rosalind Jefre speak about the healing power of human touch. That moment stayed with me.

Over the years I began noticing something simple but profound: when our bodies feel better, life opens up. Movement feels easier. Moments feel richer. But when pain and tension build up, they quietly take energy away from the things we love. Massage helps reset the body, to feel better and therefore live more fully.

How I Work With Your Body

When you step into my office, the goal isn’t simply to relax a tight muscle. It’s to understand what your body is asking for.

My work focuses on three things:

Listening

Tension in the body often reflects the story of our lives — stress, posture, injuries, or repetitive movement. I pay attention to what your body is communicating.

Releasing

I seek out areas of restriction and use myofascial release, trigger point therapy, Swedish massage, and other integrative techniques influenced by mentors like John F. Barnes and Chunyi Lin to release and restore.

Calming

In a world that constantly asks things from you, this hour asks for nothing. It’s simply space to rest, breathe, center, and reset.

Come As You Are, Leave Revived

Your body doesn’t need to be perfect to deserve care. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or simply need an hour of quiet, you are welcome here exactly as you are.

If you're ready to feel more comfortable in your body, schedule a massage or myofascial release session at The Body Workshop in Baxter. I'd be honored to work with you.
